`Lowestoft - October 15 - MARIA brig of Hartlepool, Shingles master, from Hartlepool for London (coal laden) struck at Covehithe Ness at 11am and filled with water; crew landed by Kessingland lifeboat; vessel probably a wreck.' (1)
