Full Description

1907 wreck of Norwegian barque which stranded by the north extension of Lowestoft Pier on her departure for Oslo in ballast. She was being towed out to sea at the time, losing control when the tow rope broke. Constructed of wood in 1870 and sheathed in yellow metal, she was a sailing vessel.
Status: Casualty

Broke adrift from her tow, went ashore and became a total loss, in wind conditions SW force 5. (2)

Built as FORNJOT for her first owners in Risor, being sold on to two further owners in the same port. In 1903 she was sold on to her final owner.

Dimensions: 463 tons net, 495 gross; 136 x 30.8 x 16.7 feet.
