1814 wreck of British cargo vessel which stranded on the Newcome Sand en route from Newcastle-upon-Tyne to London with coal; a wooden sailing vessel.
Status: Casualty

`The CONFERENCE, Liverich, from Newcastle to London, struck on the Newcombe Sand, near Yarmouth, on Wednesday night, and filled with water. Crew saved.' (1)

Source (3) is identical to the above, but spells the master's name as Liverick.

NB: Source (2) expresses the cargo as coal; certainly the chief export from Newcastle-upon-Tyne, but not the only possible cargo.
