Pilot Maajor Ross "Bud" W Watt Junior was undertaking a test flight in F-101C-45_MC 56-0015 from RAF Bentwaters, Suffolk, on the morning of Saturday 22nd February 1964. At around 1010 local time 56-0015 suffered a loss of control near to Framlingham and entered a dive. Unable to control the aircraft Major Ross ejected, leaving 56-0015 to crash into a field at Lampard Brook and explode, throwing large quantities of jet fueld and wreckagae across the main Framlingham to Kettleburgh Road. At the time of the survey (27/01/2008) the only visible evidence of he crash site was a very slight depression in the field where the place crashed (S1).
