Full Description

c. 1870: "Celt" of greenstone with pointed butt, 4.5 inches by 2.5 inches. Rock is composed of small feldspar laths, quartz grains and epidote in a matrix of chlorite with zoisite, clinozoisite, sphene, leucocene and granular iron ores (S1). A Tuff of the composition and appearance of the Borrowdale Tuffs from the Pike of Stickle Factory. Group VI, (S1-S4).
