Full Description
May 2026. South-West Suffolk Claylands Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AI&M) Project.
Linear banks and ditches of uncertain date, function and archaeological significance are visible as low earthworks on visualised lidar data (S1-S2) within the grounds of Stradishall Manor. It is possible that the features are the remnants of boundaries, perhaps relating to the grounds themselves, or to earlier fields. It is equally possible that at least some of the features are of more recent origin. As the features remain visible on visualisations from a lidar survey flown in 2023, it is likely that the earthworks still survive.
