Full Description

Priory of St Leonard.
Incorporated partially in Bricett Hall and Church of Saints Mary & Lawrence. Augustinian priory, founded 1114-1119, burnt down 1444 (?). Remains of priory church identified in present church, with a cloister to the N; W range partially survives in the Hall with a timber arcade - C13. No visible remains of N & E range (S1)(S2).
Spring 1926: some archaeological work, including excavations, was carried out by FH Fairweather. Details in (S3).
