Full Description

Barrow (site of) - N of Chilton Street. Shown on 1858 OS map, 1st edition as "tumulus" and on 1886 25" OS map as `Tumulus (site of)'. Slight rise (OS 1950)(R1).
Concentric ring ditch, circa 30m diameter (S1).
1957: `Low mound is visible' (S2)(R1).
1984: `Visible in plough-soil as an irregular mound with a noticeable concentration of large natural flint pebbles, circa 1.0m above surrounding land surface. Fieldwalking produced over 200 worked flints in area of barrow' (S2).
