Full Description
Moat - double. Rectangular with rectangular moated enclosure, circa 82m x 52m, wet arms, circa 10m wide. Probable fish pond within enclosed area. Occupied, house probably from C17. Connected to SW arm is a wet ditched area, circa 75m x 70m, ditch circa 3m to 13m wide. This is possibly a moated annex to one principal moated area. The owner stated that one house is built on the site of an earlier C13 structure. Isolated, on parish boundary, circa 2, 020m from church (S1)(R1).
Formerly known as Felsham Hall, being one of the Halls owned by former estate in Bradfield St Clare situated in Felsham parish (S2).
Note a second moated site to the NE (FHM 003) is also named Felsham Hall.
