Full Description

(TL 72046114) Ring ditch, 25.0m diameter, visible on OS air photograph. (S1)

The mark is located in a low situation 130.0m from the River Kennett. It is on the south side of a shallow dry valley that crosses an arable field that falls to the east. Named Towns End Field on the Enclosure Map of 1811, it was under corn stubble when visited, but nothing of interest could be seen on the ground. It is doubtful that the mark is of a barrow. Plotted at 1:2500 from OS air photograph. (S2)
