Full Description
Round Barrow - site of.
1836: Marked on OS 1st edition map (S1).
1958: A mound still shown on 1:10,560 map, on edge of `old gravel pit', though possibly not original (S2).
1977: Grid Ref given as TL 7100 6848. Site now covered by old quarry pits. According to the foreman, the pits were first worked about 1930 and no tradition of a barrow survives (R1).
1983: OS map suggests 1958 could still survive.
According to (S3) `site of tumulus on 1837 map. Large round barrow. Unopened Camb Mus 6"'
