Full Description
Moat. Rectangular, inhabited.
TL 83686781 Moat (NR) (S1) Surrounding Aldrige Cottages is an irregular oblong homestead moat (S2) Aldridge Cottages (spelling confirmed) stand on a 0.8m high platform which measures overall circa 60.0m by 48.0m. The cottages are sited in the flood plain of the River Lark and a drainage ditch is visible on the north and west side, but this does not have proportions of a moat. Even allowing for modern infill it is very doubtful if this was ever a homestead moat. (S3)
