Full Description

High Mill. Post mill, shown on Hodskinson's map of Suffolk 1783, dismantled 1911 (S1). Large post mill with two storey round house. Demolished 1912, only the piers remain, covered by brambles. The mill had four patent sails, two pairs of stones in the head, a fantail above the back gable and a tail pole. Worked in conjunction with Middle Mill (SFF 008)(S2). Shown on OS 1: 10560 map (provisional edition, 1948) as 'Windmill (disused)'.
