Full Description
1970: Small Med ditch located during fieldwalking survey by R Colchester, cut by road widening of A140. Finds consisted of late C13 pottery, 78 rims Hollesley type ware, a quantity of body sherds and two glazed sherds (S1)(S2). V shaped ditch with flat bottom, 3 feet 3 inches deep by 4 feet wide at top, containing hundreds of oyster shells, numerous mussel and a few whelks and cockles (S3).
Also found close by, Mes axe, MDS 015.
