About half of a rectangular moat and other water trenches are at Mendlesham Lodge. (S2)
Mendlehsam Lodge (name confirmed), was according to the farmer, formerly called Maltings Farm in 1848, but has been extensively modernised and is not outstanding. The irregular ponds to the east of the house do not form a moat but were probably dug as ornamental ponds or clay pits and the linear ditch extending to the south, which partly encloses the orchard forms part of the drainage system, (S3).
