Full Description

Concentrated scatter of occupation debris, including worked flint and stone, burnt flint and split bone, over sand ridges in area of hummock and hollow micro-relief. Finds between 1965-1987 by C F Pendleton and Patrick Norman on ploughsoil surface. Neo material includes flint laurel leaf (catalogue number A61), leaf arrowheads (A156, A157), triangular arrowheads (A128, A148?),a worked blade with silica lustre (I61), parts of polished flint (B55. B56 reworked, B60) and stone axes (B5, B57 reworked & A34 in P Normans collection)(including one sectioned stone axe, S149, ophitic gabbro), a stone polisher (H59), half a stone `hammer' with hourglass perforation and a semi perforated ? hammer (K32) of garnetiferous amphibolite (S138)(S5)(S6). Also a polished edged knife (I65) and a ?waster of jet (K76)
Includes laurel leaf, bifacially worked in perfect condition, 6.0cm long x4. 3cms wide, recorded incompletely as from (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s)(S2) (S3) (S4). Correct map reference (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s).
The findspot of (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) recorded for a fragment of polished flint axe (S1) is incorrect. For correct location see MNL 222.
Also polished stone axe (B36) of group VII (S6, S141), found in a potato harvester, believed to be from this field (S5).
