Full Description
Burnt Fen is actually in Cambridgeshire but merges into Mildenhall Fen, both areas of which are known as Burnt Fen.
Finds in British Museum: 3 tranchet axes between 10-20 cms long (one 1880), one perforated awl on deer cannon bone from Warren Collection (S1,S2). Possibly further information in Warren Journal (S5). Reasons for Mesolithic date of awl unclear.
