Full Description

La Tene I brooch (Fox type C)(R1)(R2)(R3)(R4).
`Along the short straight bow is oblique hatching called by Fox "herring-bone ornament" (but not shown by Hull), "delicately incised". Spring with pin complete (except its tip) has external chord and three coils, on hollow tubular axial rivet: probably a mock spring. Foots reversion missing but could have been tall enough for levelling with the bow; though a slant for it might be possible, Hulls preference was ICb'. Dated to between 300-250 BC (S1).

Formerly recorded as MNL MISC
