Full Description
Circular soilmark about 60 feet in diameter with fired soil in centre, interpreted as possible site of barrow (S1)(S2).
October 2013. Lothingland, Lowestoft and North Suffolk Coast and Heaths National Mapping Programme.
The cropmarks and soilmarks of a group of former round barrows, which would have formed a small cemetery group overlooking the minor valley to the north were visible on aerial photographs at this location and have been recorded under LUD 046. One of the soilmarks or partial ring ditches visible within the northern part of the group is likely to correspond to this previously recorded soilmark or this may in fact represent an additional component to the cemetery. The ring ditches and barrow soilmarks range in size from 13m to 22m.
S. Horlock (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 25th October 2013.
