Full Description
Cropmarks of former rectilinear field boundaries on N side of road and parish boundary.
Not shown on OS 1880s or later maps. Includes ring ditches FOS 009 & 010 in area.
May 2014. Lothingland, Lowestoft and North Suffolk Coast and Heaths National Mapping Programme.
Many linear features, possibly relating to rectilinear field boundaries as described above, are visible on aerial photographs (S2) in the vicinity of the ring ditches FOS 009, FOS 010 and FOS 032. The site polygon has been extended to the north and west to include additional linear ditches thought to be related to the site including a fragment of a possible trackway. Additional ditches to the south of the road have been recorded as SHER REY 060, although it is possible that they may have been related to this field system.
E. Ford (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 1st May 2014.
