Summary

A pillbox variant, sometimes termed a 'Suffolk Square'. It faces E and has 2 embrasures on the S side and a large blast wall covering the entrance. It was observed from a distance, and is visible on aerial photographs.

Full Description

NE of Church, near hedgerow and farm track, Benacre. A pillbox variant, sometimes termed a 'Suffolk Square'. It faces E and has 2 embrasures on the S side and a large blast wall covering the entrance. It was observed from a distance (S1).

May 2014. Lothingland, Lowestoft and North Suffolk Coast and Heaths National Mapping Programme.
The pillbox described above is visible on aerial photographs (S2).
