Full Description
Ring ditch as recorded in (S1)(S2)(R1) from APs (R2).
Google Earth image (Aug 2007, http://earth.download-free.at/uk/) shows ringditch of circa 20m diameter at circa TM 1213 4728 at NW corner of (& cut by?) rectangular enclosure in SE corner of field (S3).
Cropmarks of a ring-ditch, probably a ploughed out round barrow with an incomplete rectilinear enclosure, of probable prehistoric date, bisecting it. The ring ditch is sub-circular and 24m in diameter. The ditch appears to have been re-cut or altered on the south-west side of the ring-ditch. The corner of a double ditched recilinear enclosure and a further boundary ditch bisect the ring-ditch. The enclosure is incomplete and none of the western side is visible on the avaible aerial photographs. Helen Saunders (Essex County Council), March 2014. (S4-S6)
