Full Description

June 1991: Trial excavation of flanking trackway (E-W) ditches of northern of two trackways showing as cropmark - see Un. As part of watching brief in advance of water pipeline following mechanical topsoil stripping. N ditch 1.55m wide, 20cm deep in subsoil, S ditch 6m away, 1.50m wide and 35cm deep. Only finds came from N ditch - a few hand-made ?IA sherds (S1-S3).
