Full Description
Oval enclosure with entrance in W side - `banjo' type.
See complex WHR 018.
Cropmark of a possible oval enclosure with entrance in W side of possible prehistoric date, field boundaries and ditches. The possible enclosure is 115m in diameter with a possible enctrance to the west and a further possible entrance to the south. The external ditch of the enclosure is not uniform in shape, with a smooth curve on the northern side and a sinuous boundary to the south. The east side of the enclosure is truncated by a field boundary and there is no evidence of the enclosure continuing on the other side of this boundary. Several short ditches and field boundaries are visible around and cutting through the enclosure. Helen Saunders (Essex County Council), January 2015. (S1)
