Full Description
A number of apparently related linear features, of unknown date, (probably forming boundaries of some sort) are visible as earthwork banks on the golf course at South Warren. The main bank appears to extend from TM 441583 to TM 451579, with a short section of nearly parallel bank at TM 44455809 and a longer section of bank from TM 44645798 to TM 44735818. (S1-2).
Elements of these banks closely match the course of paths marked on the first edition Ordnance Survey map of 1884, across was known at this time as Hazlewood common or The Warren (S3). Annotation of 'C.T.' may possibly stand for 'cart tracks'. Many of the paths survived the construction of Aldeburgh golf course, which is mapped on the Ordnance Survey map of 1904 (S4), but a number do not and are omitted.
