Full Description
A bomb crater, c 22m in diameter, is visible to the north-west of The Denes, Southwold, on September 1941 aerial photographs (S1). The crater is not in existence on July 1940 aerial photographs, which demonstartes that it was created at some point between these two dates, and must have been related to the activity in this area during World War II. It is now depicted on the modern map as a pond, but it originated as a bomb crater.
