Full Description
A section of trench, c 35m long, can be seen as an earthwork on aerial photographs from 1941 (S1), close to the beach in Dunwich. The trench can also be seen on photographs from 1945 (S2). This feature would have formed part of the World War II defences in this area, or may have been used for practice purposes during this period.
