Full Description
Four stretches of post alignments can be seen on aerial photographs taken in September 1945, located both in the inter-tidal zone and below the low water mark off Stonner Point in Sutton parish at TM 2873 4456. They appear to be very similar in nature to the other aligments of posts nearby which have been identified as the remains of fish traps of probable Post Medieval date. It is difficult to understand the layout of these posts in terms of functioning as fish traps however. It may be that other parts of the structures been destroyed or obscured. These alignments do not appear to be visible on any later photography. (S1)
See SUT 127 and SUT 128 for fish traps and SUT 130 for another stretch of timber aligment which may be related to these structures.
