Full Description
Two undated quarry pits can be seen as earthworks, centred on TM 30844300 and TM 30684291, on aerial photographs taken from the 1940s onwards. The pit to the south is presumably later in date than the one to the north as the northern pit is not depicted on the 1st or 2nd Edition Ordnance Survey maps (S1) (S2) and appears to have been ploughed over for a number of years, unlike the pit to the south. The pits were probably dug to extract sand and gravel. (S3) (S4)
