Full Description

Two probable weapons pits are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 1941, on the high ground overlooking the beach, at circa TM47405975. They are small circular pits, probably intended to hold 2 or 3 men and a single weapon such as a machine gun or mortar. Later photographs from the war are not clear enough to tell whether these features continue in use, but photographs from 1942 may show a small slit trench in this area. (S1-2).
