Full Description
A probable World War weapons pit is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs, centred on TM46405707. The pit is first visible on aerial photographs of 1941 (S1). It is a circular feature about 5m in diameter, surrounded by a small amount of upcast spoil to provide protection for the occupants. It probably housed 1 or 2 men and a machine gun, or similar sized weapon. It is still just visible on aerial photographs of 1945 (S2).
