Full Description
Post Medieval field boundaries are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs, centred on TM 22963620 to the west of Shotley Hall. The field boundaries are visible as ditches, probably where hedges have been removed. The longer field boundary runs from TM 22743607 in a north-easterly direction for 245m before turning eastwards at TM 22963620. It then continues for another 165m until it terminates at TM 23123620. A shorter boundary runs from the first boundary, northwards from TM 23033620 for 108m. (S1) (S2) (S3)
See SLY 006 for the Later Prehistoric or Roman field system and SLY 005 for the probable Bronze Age round barrow located nearby.
