Full Description

A number of irregularly shaped slit trenches of Second World War date are visible on aerial photographs to the west of Garrison Lane, Felixstowe, centred on circa TM29583424. They are not visible on photographs of May 1944 (S1) but can be seen on July 1944 photographs (S2). The purpose of the trenches is unclear but the triangular trench at circa TM29593421 is not a type commonly used as an air-raid shelter and may indicate that the group is for military use.
