Full Description
A ditch defined trackway and enclosure of possible later prehistoric date are visible as cropmarks, circa 200 metres to the east of Duke's Hill Wood, Foxhall parish, centred on circa TM240437. The trackway is aligned north-east to south-west and is intermittantly visible for about 430 metres between circa TM239435 and TM240439. The enclosure is partly obscured by a modern track and field boundary on the available photographs, but appears to be made up of two components; a 'D' shaped enclosure, the curved section pointed to the north, with a rectangular enclosure added to this northern edge. Similarly orientated, and potentially similarly dated cropmarks are visible to the east and west, possibly forming a large scale network of fields and enclosures. (S1, S2)
