Full Description
Linear cropmarks, possibly the remains of field boundaries and a track or road of medieval date, can be seen on aerial photographs to the north of Beacon Hill, Little Bealings parish, centred on circa (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s). The cropmarks are orientated roughly north-west to south-east, with two parallel ditches about eight metres apart possibly defining a track or road which follows the 20 metre contour around Beacon Hill. This route and field system may continue to the south-east (see MRM 113), where it appears to match the alignment of an extant field boundary of probable post-medieval date. (S1, S2)
