Full Description
Field boundaries of probable medieval to post-medieval date are visible on aerial photographs as earthworks and soilmarks, centred on circa TM336878 to the south-east of Hall Farm, Bungay parish. The easternmost linear feature matches a field boundary marked on the First and Second Edition Ordnance Survey maps (S1, S2) but which has been transcribed due to its probable relationship with the second feature to the west, a curvilinear soilmark that appears to abut the same extant field boundary to the south. These two boundaries, now removed, divided the immediate area into irregularly shaped fields, similar in nature to those visible as earthworks and cropmarks surrounding Manor Farm to the east, and which have been interpreted as medieval in origin. (S3, S4)
