Full Description
An earthwork causeway of probable post-medieval date is visible on aerial photographs crossing the reclaimed land between Bungay town and the River Waveney, Bungay parish, at circa TM 336891. The 140 metre long and 6 metre wide route may have originally led to a river crossing or have been used for stock movement. It is marked as a path on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of circa 1884 but not the Second Edition of 1904, although the continued presence of footbridges over the drainage channels suggests that an access route continued in use.
