Full Description

The boundary of Long Wood in Mettingham parish, a woodland potentially of medieval origin but probably of post-medieval date, is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs centred on circa TM261882. The wood is marked on both the First and Second Edition Ordnance Survey maps but was probably removed after the Second World War. A section of field boundary to the south of the wood also visible as a cropmark has also been transcribed to prevent future confusion with earlier archaeological features. (S1-S3)
