Abstract/Summary

An excavation was carried out on land south of Main Road, Martlesham, Suffolk, in advance of housing development. several phases of field system defined by boundary ditches were identified ranging from the Middle Bronze Age to the Late Iron Age. 10 pits were radiocarbone dated and idenified as Middle saxon fire pits.
