Description
Excavation and monitoring were carried out by Pre-Construct Archaeology between 15 April and 22 May 2014. The archaeological work was commissioned by CgMs Consulting on behalf of Bloor Homes Ltd, in response to a planning condition attached to the construction of 180 new homes with associated access roads, services and landscaping. The excavation and monitoring were concentrated on Area 1 c.1.42ha rectangular area in the western part of the site. Two additional targeted excavations at Area 2 and 3 are due to take place in the eastern half of the site, in line with the developer's construction programme (S1).
