Summary

Fieldwalking survey by Haverhill District Archaeological Group recorded two main areas of Med occupation on `Field 34', described as `several well defined areas of dark soil-marks and a pond, which were coincident with a light field-scatter of medieval pottery' (S1).

Full Description

Fieldwalking survey by Haverhill District Archaeological Group recorded two main areas of Med occupation on `Field 34', described as `several well defined areas of dark soil-marks and a pond, which were coincident with a light field-scatter of medieval pottery' (S1).
Probably part of Med green edge settlement around Longacre Green (see BYG 005).
For other Med sites around green see BYG 023 & 025.

Site identified withing the desk based assessment and preliminary field walking of the route of Kirtling green to Wixoe Pipeline (S2).
