Medieval scatter found on pipeline route.

Scatter of pottery - two probably C12 rims, otherwise mainly C13-C14 unglazed wares - one rim with a very definite lid seating, another with a ground-down inner edge to the rim and one possible pottery lid fragment.

Seal impression of seal found:- pointed oval shape, central device of a bird wounding itself in the chest above a nest containing three chicks. Formerly recorded as WCB MISC

Bronze seal matrix, circular with loop on the back, bird or griffin in centre, inscribed: +S'ROBERTILES. Formerly recorded as BSE MISC

Seal matrix, cone shaped with loop on top, device - crude Ihs (Jusus) religious type. Formerly recorded as SBT MISC

Seal matrix, facetted cone shape. Formerly recorded as SBT MISC

Seal matrix made of lead with the inscription : S'STEPH AMI* around a central six-rayed star. Formerly recorded as IKL MISC

Semi-circular moat(?) abutting SW side of road between Deadman's Lane and Gedding Road in tithe map (S1).

An evaluation revealed evidence of medieval settlement including possible structures
