Sandstone 'saucer' quern and part of a saddle quern.

Three Romano British pits were found when draining a field at Great Thurlow. The finds of 1st century date and later consisted of pottery, bones and shell with organic matter along with a chalk figurine of mercury and a coin.

Romano British, Medieval and Post Medieval pottery sherds and tile were recovered from a ploughed field in 1977-8. It is unclear whether the pottery had originated from the field area, or had been dredeged from the moat which lay to the south west.

Flint scraper found on edge of track

1813: "in the course of ploughing in a field near Frosly Bridge two human skeletons were unearthed together with a pike, spear head and ancient iron spurs". Formerly recorded as DNN MISC

Acheulean hand-axe of sub-cordate form.

"Bronze Age flint artifacts were found on the surface in 1928-31".

Possible Saxon inhumation as evidenced by an iron buckle, knife and tweezers at Great Thurlow in 1891.

Two metal detected coins of Edward IV (1461-1483).

1994: Prehistoric material found fieldwalking amidst mainly Roman scatter includes one handmade body sherd with flint `gritted' fabric, 7 flint flakes and 9 fragments burnt flint (S1).
