Common, visible 1880s

Series of roughly rectangular pit-like cropmarks are visible at the possible site of a warren of probable Post-medieval date in Covehithe parish.

Small, well-worked spearhead in light brown flint.

1866 - 'The Warren Lodge', one of three Warren houses at Wangford. Part of a range of brick, flint and tile buildings, containing bed chamber, rabbite house, trap house and skin chamber.

Rent - rolls of 1287 record that Sir William de Valence holds a manor (Kentwell) in Melford of 360 acres of land, 4 meadow, 5 pasture, 17 wood and one windmill; & he holds a warren in chief from the King by one knights service (S1).

The Warren - medieval rabbit warren of the Abbots of Bury St Edmunds, adjoining their Little Park.
