Description
1997: An excavation was undertaken in advance of the constructuon of a large dormitory complex covering 2.1 hectares on a site previously used as a sports field. Initially the investigation began with trenching but as graves were encountered these were extended and a large area opened. Monitoring was undertaken during subsequent construction which involved rapid visual examination of deep holes, drainage trenches and footing trenches. Monitoring of stor drains beyond the excavation area and stripped areas on the periphery of the site revealed a few additional burials.
