Description
Groundworks within the main body of St Michael's Church, Beccles, required archaeological monitoring to be undertaken. Concluded that earlier interpretation of layers representing successive floor layers was not correct. Upper layers probably relate to construction of tower in some way, perhaps strengthening the ground on which it was to stand.
