Description

An archaeological watching brief was undertaken on the disused tennis courts in Honeypot Meadow, just to the north of Bardolph Road, Bungay. The work was requested by Suffolk County Council following the results of an archaeological evaluation earlier in the year. The project was conducted in response to a planning condition set for a proposed small residential development, on behalf of Wellington Construction Ltd. Two days of watching brief attendance were needed to monitor the machine excavation of the foundation trenches for two blocks of dwellings. There were no archaeological features or finds recovered from this element of the project (S1).
