Description
Archaeological monitoring was carried out on groundwork associated with the construction of an extension to the northwest side of 134 Melford Road. A single visit was made to the site to observe footings. The footings measured at approximately 0.6m wide and 1.1m deep. These footings had been cut through a 0.35m thick layer of topsoil, a 0.4m thick layer of brown sandy loam and into the underlying natural subsoil. No finds or features of archaeological interest were identified.
