Description
Archaeological monitoring in advance of building a new toilet and drainage trench. 1 trench was excavated for the train under the west doorway to a 15m soak-away. The soak-away trench, being 15m long by 0.9m deep by 1m wide only revealed a pit contianing rubble from the restoration of the tower. Topsoil was dark brown and 0.2m deep which overlay the subsoil 0.5m max depth (S1).
