An archaeological excavation was undertaken ahead of the construction of a new house . The excavation followed and was informed by an evaluation of the development site. The overall plot measured 0.15ha although only a partial footprint was excavated. The area of one house and the driveway did not require excavation of the footprint due to negative results in the evaluation. The topsoil on the site was c0.2m thich on average and consisted of light brown clayey silt, contained small sub-angular flints as was turfed over. A layer of subsoil was 0.2m-0.25m thick and formed of firm, light brown clayey silt with ocassional chalk flecks (S1).
